Also this year, the more and more renowned and participated event of Rivalto in Feast under the stars – Peasant Festival, now in its 12th edition, has not been delayed and, as usual, during the night of Saint Lawrence of the 10th of August, it was animated in a magical atmosphere through the streets of the village.
Lots of locals and foreigns visited the decorated streets of the village, the photographic exhibition, the stands of local crafts and food and wine products of the territory: tomato soup (the tuscan "pappa al pomodoro"), cabbage soup (the tuscan "zuppa di cavolo"), pappardelle with wildboar sauce, bread with grilled sausages, tripe (the italian "trippa"), sweet waffles with cream (the tuscan "nozze" that translated in italian means "wedding"), pancakes of wheat flour (the tuscan "migliecci"), fried donuts with sugar (the tuscan “friars”), cantucci, selection of sweets, extra virgin olive oil, wine of the area, honey and jams, as well as sangria, aperitifs and appetizers, cocktails, fresh fruit...
in short, for all tastes and for all pockets (as long as you pay in "lilleri", the traditional coin of the party).
The central points of the festival (Piazza Beato Giordano, Piazza della Compagnia, Il Campino, Trattoria da Mirella, Palazzo del Borgo di Rivalto, Residenze di Rivalto di Canapaia) animated by live music for the entire evening: great classics accompanied by the acoustic guitar, music for group dance at the poolside at the Borgo, disco-music in Canapaia.
The starry sky has allowed the observation of the stars led by the Associazione Astrofili Alta Valdera (Alta Valdera Amateur Astronomers Association).
Appreciated all the organizers and volunteers who have contributed, also this year, to make the Rivalto festival a moment of meeting and rediscovering of the territory.
