A walk down towards Cimpoli

One of the most common and pleasant walks of the “rivaltini” and strangers who have the chance to stay a few days in Rivalto is towards the village of Cimpoli

Starting from Rivalto, proceeding for Via Giuseppe Falugi that offers magnificent views of the Valdera’s hills. Along the street, especially in spring and summer, it is not unusual to meet someone sitting on the wall and chatting about the everyday life with which pleasantly entertain yourself for a greeting and a "How are you?"
After the square of the War Memorial for the Country, walking along the Road of Monte Vaso, under the shade of tall lime trees and, just after 3 switchbacks, in about 1 km, reaching Cimpoli

Cimpoli is a small village of three buildings along a curve of the Monte Vaso Road and, time ago, it belonged to the family of Conti Rasponi-Spinelli, owners of different farms and lands of this zone. Today, you can still appreciate the characteristic stone houses and the old farm buildings, the barn, the stable and the manor house with the coat of arms of Rasponi-Spinelli family, all surrounded by manicured gardens with flowers and “terracotta” vases.

From the curve of Cimpoli, the landscapes of Chianni, dominated by the Church of San Donato, striking at sunset and the ideal place for a stopover and some amateur photographies.
